I think of therapy like an unfolding story, where a therapist helps you make sense of your past chapters and understand how they have shaped your present self. In the present chapter, the therapist supports you in identifying your strengths, clarifying your values, and making mindful decisions that align with your authentic self. In looking ahead to the future, the therapist encourages you to embrace the unknown with curiosity and confidence, knowing that you have the tools and resilience to navigate whatever comes your way.
My approach as a therapist is rooted in empathy, authenticity, and respect for each individual's journey. I draw from my warm, calming, and genuine style to create an environment where clients feel safe, heard, and understood. I believe in the power of humor to lighten the mood and foster connection, while also maintaining a direct and honest dialogue to address challenges head-on. This balance helps to facilitate a deeper exploration of emotions, thoughts, and behaviors, encouraging clients to engage with their vulnerabilities in a safe, nonjudgmental space.
I integrate evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness practices, all through a primarily attachment-based lens. This means our sessions are tailored to meet clients’ unique needs and goals, ensuring a personalized and effective therapeutic experience. My approach is trauma-informed, focusing on creating a sense of safety and trust, and culturally-sensitive, acknowledging and respecting the diverse backgrounds and experiences that shape each individual's perspective. My specific interests and specialized training lie in the treatment of adolescents, complex trauma, women’s issues, parenting challenges, and eating disorders, however I am equipped to work with a broad spectrum of clinical issues.
Becoming a therapist was a driven by my own transformative experiences in therapy. Witnessing firsthand the profound impact that compassionate, skilled guidance can have on one's mental and emotional well-being inspired me to pursue this path. After 10 years working in the entertainment industry, I decided to change course and seek out a career that would allow me to provide others with the same support and understanding that helped me navigate my own challenges. The ability to connect with individuals on a deep level and to facilitate their growth and healing is incredibly fulfilling. I am dedicated to creating a safe space where clients can explore their inner worlds, find their strengths, and move towards a more empowered and authentic life.
